HAINBUCH America (Milwaukee, WI) has broken ground on construction of its new North American headquarters in Mequon, WI. The 13,000 sq ft facility will bring manufacturing of its workholding equipment to the United States for the first time. HAINBUCH has had offices at 7483 North 60th Street in Milwaukee since 1997, but to date, all manufacturing has been done at its world headquarters in Marbach, Germany.

Brookfield-based Megal Development Corp. is designer and builder of the new American headquarters. The facility is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

"We are making an investment in our current and future American customers with the construction of this manufacturing plant,? said Jurgen Bettray, president of HAINBUCH America. ?They will have more immediate access to our products, technology and service, and we are proud that we?ll not only keep jobs here in the Milwaukee area, but we?ll be able to hire more workers,? Bettray continued.

Bettray, who came to the U.S. from Germany a decade ago and has been with the company for 15 years, added that although sales are down for the first quarter of 2009, HAINBUCH sees this as the perfect opportunity to expand, so the company will be ready when strong sales resume.
