WORKHOLDING SOLUTION FOR MANUFACTURERS THAT PUSH THEIR MACHINES TO THE LIMIT
Haimer USA?s SafeLock System combines the advantages of a shrink-fit chuck with those of a positive connection by utilizing positive drivers that grip into screw-shaped grooves that are ground into the cutter shank. SafeLock?s clamping procedure is simple – the chuck is heated as usual and the tool is inserted with a rotating movement.

Haimer USA will feature the SafeLock System, a solution for manufacturers that push their machines to the limit and risk tools being pulled out of chucks as a result of high loads. It combines the advantages of a shrink-fit chuck with those of a positive connection by integrating ball or pin drivers into the chuck. Those drivers grip into helical grooves that are ground into the cutter shank in the opposite direction of the cutting forces. Because of the shape of the groove, the tool is simultaneously safeguarded against spinning as well as against pull out when confronted with radial and axial cutting forces.
