The National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) formally installed its 2009 Executive Team at its 2009 Annual Convention in Palm Springs, CA.
Ron Overton of Overton Industries in Mooresville, IN was sworn in as the 2009 Chairman of the Board. Ron?s theme will be ?Leadership in Uncertain Times.? During his acceptance speech Mr. Overton spoke about how during economic times such as that which we are in now, belonging to a national trade group like the NTMA becomes even more important. He stressed the need for members to work together on common issues but to also use other members when needing to outsource work. To that end, he announced a new national project, ?Members First.? This project is meant to remind members that other members should be considered when needing outside work done. The NTMA will establish a special area on its website for members to post RFQ?s and Open Machine Time. ?Working together we can make it through hard times as we have before,? said Mr. Overton.
Joining Mr. Overton on the 2009 NTMA Executive Team are Vice Chairman Russ Reschke from Metal Processors, Inc., Stevensville, MI; Treasurer Grady Cope, Reata Engineering & Machine Works, Inc., Englewood, CO; and Secretary Roger Atkins, MIC Group, Brenham, TX. Roy Sweatman, 2008 NTMA Chairman from Southern Manufacturing Technologies, Tampa, FL, will continue on the team as Past Chairman.
