Weldcraft's new Modular Flex Complete (MFC) Kits allow welding operators to customize specific air-cooled and water-cooled TIG torches for their exact welding application, minimizing downtime for torch changeover for each job and reducing the need to stock additional inventory.
The AK-150MFC Kit converts a standard WP-17 Series air-cooled TIG torch into 28 different torch styles while still using the existing cable, and the AK-225MFC Kit converts a single WP-225 water-cooled TIG torch package into five additional torch styles. Both kits include collets, collet bodies, nozzles, torch heads and other accessories needed to create these custom TIG torch configurations. The AK-150MFC Kit features rotatable torch head options to configure a TIG torch capable of good joint access. This kit also features an easily removable head and coil combination unit with silicon rubber insulation that prevents overheating and its associated downtime or rework.
The AK-225MFC Kit provides components with similarly efficient cooling capacity for the water-cooled WP-225 TIG torch, and also features multiple torch head options. Both MFC Kits include 2 percent ceriated tungsten: .040-, 1/16- and3/32-inch in the AK-150MFC Kit, and 1/16-, 3/32- and 1/8-inch in the AK-225MFC Kit. This type of tungsten provides excellent arc starting capabilities for a range of amperage settings and performs well for AC or DC processes. Included alumina and lava nozzles in each kit provide reliable crack resistance for medium-duty TIG welding applications, and are compatible with 10N, 13N and 24 Series front-end parts.
