In 2009, Methods Machine Tools Inc. (Sudbury, MA) is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their company. Originally founded in November of 1958, with 3 employees and a few refurbished machines, Methods has grown into one of the largest precision machine tool importers in North America with over 300 employees, 7 facilities/technology centers and over 27,000 systems installed, ranging from EDM machines to sophisticated 5-Axis CNC Machining Centers.
The company?s founder Mr. Clement McIver Sr. established principles from the company?s beginning that have continued to set Methods apart from conventional importers or distributors: ?Anyone can sell a machine. But not everyone provides the extra effort that makes a difference on a company?s bottom line?– Clem McIver Sr., 1917 – 1995.
"Our founder?s vision has remained with us in the past 50 years. We offer a total solution of service from design and applications to engineering, installation, training and unmatched support, to help companies be more profitable, productive and competitive. Our mission is to continue to provide innovative, world-class products backed by customer-focused services and support,? says Mr. Scott McIver, Methods Chairman and 3rd generation Owner.
Machine Tool partners include Matsuura, Nakamura, KIWA-Japan and Fanuc Robodrill. EDM partners include Fanuc wire EDM?s, Exeron CNC Die Sinkers, and Current EDM hole drillers. Methods product line approach is to carefully select only the most advanced, optimal technology for each machining discipline. This provides customers the best solutions in vertical, horizontal, and five axis machining, extreme multi-tasking CNC lathes, and state-of-the-art robotics and automation for unmanned production.
President and CEO Mr. Bryon Deysher, who was instrumental in expanding Methods expertise, products and solutions across North America, said ?Our Methods team is built on the solid foundation of the strengths of our employees and the power of our partnerships that provide innovative solutions in machine automation. We are extremely proud to celebrate this milestone and are committed to helping our manufacturing customers excel in the future.?
During 2009, Methods will be celebrating the anniversary through various promotions, at industry events, and will also host a special 3- day Methods Milestone Open house show September 15-17.
