Realizing that waterjets are quickly becoming one of the most versatile and eco-friendly machine tool investments, Foremost Machinery announces the acquisition of Jetstream Waterjet CNC cutters. Extremely high pressures cut through virtually any material, from soft foam to hard glass to stainless steel up to 1.56 in thick. For the harder applications, a garnet abrasive is fed automatically to the jet. The Ultra High Pressure hydraulic intensifier pump generates 50 HP/90,000 psi.
Set-up is quick and easy with the CAD-CAM drawing program or by downloading existing computer drawings. The Optical Digitizing System uses industrial strength German optics attached to an X-Y Axis robot that plots any template with detailed accuracy automatically. Accuracy is within .020 in. Even short runs are practical as no tool changes are required. The environmentally friendly Jetstream uses only water and garnet, producing no poisonous fumes or toxic gases. Two models are offered with plate capacities to 12 ft x 8 ft, in cantilever and bridge styles. An optional loading/unloading platform for the bridge style assures safer and convenient handling of large metal sheets or heavy glass plate.
