Magid Glove & Safety offers Bamboo ROC? Gloves, the industry’s first general-purpose work gloves manufactured using a 100 percent bamboo fiber shell. Made from one of nature’s most sustainable resources, Bamboo ROC Gloves are available in two industrial-grade styles ? the Bamboo ROC GP169 and GP199.

Bamboo ROC GP169 Gloves feature a 100 percent bamboo seamless brown machine knit shell with a foam nitrile palm coating, and Bamboo ROC GP199 Gloves feature a 100 percent bamboo seamless blue machine knit shell with a foam latex palm coating. “With more and more corporations launching ?green’ purchasing initiatives, PPE buyers striving to comply will find Magid’s new Bamboo ROC Gloves a superb option that doesn’t compromise on performance,” said Adam Cohen, Executive Vice President, Magid Glove & Safety. “Unique and innovative, Bamboo ROC gloves deliver hand protection that is functional, comfortable, stylish and environmentally friendly.”

The technology for turning bamboo into yarn is less than a decade old, but its popularity has spread quickly across the globe, both for its unique properties as a fabric and its low environmental impact. An extremely hardy plant, bamboo grows quickly and without the aid of pesticides and fertilizers, allowing it to be harvested every few months. Further, the bamboo pulp fiber used in the manufacture of Bamboo ROC Gloves is made using a mechanical process without the use of environmentally harmful chemicals, and unlike synthetic fibers, bamboo is not petroleum-based, which is becoming more important in a world of high oil prices and dwindling reserves.

The Bamboo ROC Gloves’ 100 percent bamboo machine knit shell is not only kinder to the environment but lighter, softer and more absorbent than most shells made from cotton or synthetics.  Possessing inherent antibacterial and antifungal properties, bamboo fiber reduces bad odors and irritants on contact, extending the life of the gloves in the field. Its unique porous structure also wicks moisture away from the skin up to four times faster than cotton. The result is gloves that keep hands cooler, drier and more comfortable in a wide range of industrial applications. Bamboo ROC Gloves offer superior comfort while providing the toughness and grip that customers expect from the Magid ROC line of gloves. The gloves’ premium black foam nitrile or foam natural rubber latex palm delivers excellent grip, dexterity, abrasion resistance and ANSI Cut Level 1 protection.  Bamboo ROC GP169 and GP199 Gloves are available for immediate shipment and sell for $36.96 per dozen in sizes 6-11 and $30.64 per dozen in sizes 7-11, respectively, with discounts available for quantity purchases.
