GF AgieCharmilles' Mikron HSM 300 MoldMaster has been improved to include the features and benefits of the company's GraphiteMaster line. The product consolidation enables users to choose between MoldMaster (MM) and GraphiteMaster (GM) configurations, increasing flexibility in the job shop. With fast linear axes and a 30,000-rpm, high frequency spindle, the Mikron HSM 300 MM demonstrates that dynamics and precision can work hand in hand.
Designed specifically for high precision applications in the tool and mold industry, the Mikron HSM 300 MM offers incomparable surface finishes and superior accuracy while also ensuring time optimized high-speed cutting conditions. Built on a polymer granite base, the Mikron HSM 300 MM provides exceptional damping properties and stability essential for high-speed milling. The single casting construction improves machining accuracy, producing better thermal stability for excellent work piece surface quality and minimal tool wear. Additionally, the machine is outfitted with zero-play linear guides, high-resolution glass scales and preloaded ballscrews to ensure accurate positioning and high rigidity with axis acceleration rates of up to 1.2 G.
GF AgieCharmilles offers the Mikron HSM 300 MM with the Graphite Extraction package option, previously found on GraphiteMaster products. Providing a clean and efficient machining process, the powerful dust extraction system with suction frame is fully integrated in the machine base. Nozzles surrounding the machining spindle deliver focused air blasts directly to the machining point for optimal dust removal. In addition, a constant underpressure is maintained in the full enclosure to confine all dust to the machining area, creating a constant flow of fresh air that protects the guides and the automatic tool changer from graphite dust. The Mikron HSM 300 MM utilizes the versatile, workshop-oriented Heidenhain iTNC530 control system to achieve the necessary speed and control to perform the most complex applications. The machine also contains a number of user-friendly features optimized for use in the workshop, including Smart Machining Modules, which operate sensors that allow machinists to utilize the Advanced Process System (APS) for monitoring and recording spindle vibrations.
