SKF® tapered roller bearings feature tapered rollers arranged between tapered inner and outer ring raceways to accommodate heavy combined axial and radial loads and promote optimized rolling conditions. Their design is less sensitive to misalignment than traditional roller bearings and contributes to longer service life, higher reliability, and quieter performance.

Typical applications include industrial gearboxes and equipment for mining, material handling, and metal processing, among others. Among their benefits, a logarithmic raceway contact profile improves stress distribution over roller/raceway contacts. High running and greater dimensional accuracy allows for low-noise operation. Their specially engineered sliding surfaces contribute to lubricant film formation and correct motion of the rollers for smooth and more accurate performance. These bearings in metric and inch versions are available in a wide range of contact angles and boundary dimensions to accommodate many loading conditions.  Steel cages are standard. Boundary dimensions for metric types are in accordance with ISO 355-2007 and ABMA-1993 and inch series are in accordance with ABMA 19.2-1994. Design variations include advanced tapered roller bearing types (CL7C specifications) offering especially high running accuracy and low friction torque under full load. Custom bearings, such as low energy types, can be developed to satisfy particular application requirements.www.skfusa.com
