Great Lakes Air Systems has the highest quality standards for the finish (metal finish specifications) of its equipment. The standard powder coating, door hardware and door seals for indoor equipment have been proven adequate for a lifetime of outdoor use. However, there are several improvements made to the equipment when it is sold for outdoor use.  These improvements include a two step powder coated finish and SS door latches and hardware. Both indoor and outdoor finishes have received ASTM #D714 "Salt Spray Testing" and stood up very well. This is a corrosion resistance test that tests for blistering, rust through, and creepage.

The standard finish for indoor use received a perfect score (10/10) for up to 750 hr of testing and the standard finish for outdoor use received perfect score (10/10) for up to 1,000 hr of testing. www.robovent.com
