Laser Research Optics (Providence, RI) offers a new line of low absorption laser lenses for use with high power CO2 lasers which are designed to run cooler than conventional A/R coated lenses. Laser Research Cool-Cut? CO2 Laser Lenses are specially coated to absorb <0.15 percent of laser energy which protects against thermal damage and provides focal length stability to assure consistent cut quality. Developed for high power CO2 lasers, they will last longer than standard A/R coated lenses, depending upon the application, claims the firm.
Direct replacements for popular standard OEM laser Lenses, Laser Research Cool-Cut? CO2 Laser Lenses are available in 1.5 in and 2.0 in dia. sizes from 0.236 in to 0.380 in thick with focal lengths from 1 in to 25 in in 0.5 in increments. Surface quality is 40-20 scratch-dig and transmission is >99.0 percent at 10.6 µm.
