FLUOROPOLYMER FORMING MANDRELS

Applied Plastics Co., Inc. (Norwood, MA) introduces a line of medical-grade forming mandrels for manufacturing small parts. APC PTFE Natural® Fluoropolymer Forming Mandrels are made from stainless steel or nitinol wire and feature a smooth, uniform fluoropolymer coating that will not flake. Capable of excursions to 700 deg F and 550 deg F continuous operation, higher than Parylene coated mandrels, these gray forming mandrels exhibit a 0.05 coefficient of friction per ASTM-1894.

Ideally suited for fuse welding and tipping operations, APC PTFE Natural® Fluoropolymer Forming Mandrels are now available in lengths up to 12 ft. The wires are stocked in sizes from 0.005 in to 0.070 in dia. and the proprietary coating is applied from 0.00005 in to 0.0008 in thick with a ±0.0001 in final diameter tolerance.
