Mazak Optonics Corporation's new Super Turbo-X Champion hybrid laser cutting system is designed for affordable, high-precision cutting of a wide variety of materials, with easy set-up and operation that has been the hallmark of Mazak lasers for more than 20 years.

The Champion is now available with a larger, 5 ft x 10 ft work table, load-unload, e-Soft – which offers proven technology and excellent reliability, and the state-of-the-art PREview 640 PC/NC control. Constant beam length allows it to uniformly and accurately cut sheets up to .470 in mild steel, .160 in stainless steel, .160 in aluminum and .080 in brass without changing optics, eliminating set-up and downtime.

The Takumi closed-box frame provides outstanding vibration dampening to ensure high accuracy, high-speed cutting with excellent edge quality. High-precision ball screws in all axis of motion create smooth acceleration to assure smooth cutting and high-quality finished parts.

The Champion features either a 4 ft x 8 ft or 5 ft x 10 ft work table that moves smoothly along the X-axis, while the patented pivoting beam system moves the torch in the Y-axis for the optimum cutting of a variety of materials with no beam divergence. The PREview 640 CNC drives the Champion through powerful 64-bit processor technology and a unique, ?look-ahead? capability. The PREview 640 reads ahead through several commands, predicting problem areas such as tight corners and intricate shapes, and adjusting the cutting parameters for each shape for top-quality cutting at the lowest possible cycle time.

Standard equipment on the Champion includes a manual focus adjustment torch, a non-contact profiler, assist gas changeover equipment, a work light, pneumatic work clamps, scrap conveyor, multi-tap transformer, the necessary chiller unit, PREview control and 15kg of assist gas piping preparation. www.mazakoptonics.com
